Salary Range: $70,000 – $90,000
Black River Systems Company, a small, established research-oriented engineering firm headquartered in Utica, NY, is looking for an Entry Level Systems Engineer to help us design and analyze state-of- the-art radar and electro-optical sensor systems. The candidate should have a strong background in applied mathematics or engineering. Candidates should have an interest in signal and image processing, control systems, or digital communications. The position is established to work in a team environment to develop technical solutions for our customers in areas such as algorithm development, functional analysis, performance tradeoff studies, prototype development, and proof-of-concept demonstrations.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor of science in mathematics, physics, electrical engineering or related, master’s degree is a plus
- Minimum 3.25 GPA
- Solid communication, documentation, and collaborative/teamwork skills
- Engineering skills in one or more languages widely used for software development (e.g. C/C++, Java, Rust, and/or Go) is desirable.
- Experience with scientific computing languages (e.g. Python, Matlab, R, and/or Julia) and other software-based simulation is strongly desired.
- Calculus I and Calculus II required
- High degree of interpersonal and team building skills to work as part of a team of government, military, and contractor personnel.
- US citizenship – must have or be eligible for a Department of Defense security clearance
